Things to know
- Setup steps: USPS Business Portal account, funded Enterprise Payment Account, accept terms, request a license, sign by DocuSign, then wait for USPS to countersign.
- The license limits use to "Updating Addresses and Attributes", forbids reselling or sublicensing, forbids building a competing service, and requires every request to go to USPS (no answering from your own cache).
- USPS told the Postal Regulatory Commission that about 70% of its ~8,000 Addresses API users used it for non-mailing purposes.
